Purpose
“Hermaphrodite” expresses corporality, a theme with which Didier Faustino has long been concerned. Its shape is ambiguous recalling both a chair and an object that looks like an oversized pelvis. As the title suggests, the work inspires the sitter to consider his or her own identity from a gender perspective.
